Our story

Becca’s Home was created to address the current sustainability crisis in the furniture ecosystem. Every year in America, 24.4 billion pounds of furniture get thrown in the trash. That hurts. It hurts the environment, and it also hurts the 31.8 million people living below the poverty line who are in need.

That’s why we donate all furniture to charity at it’s retirement, with 98.6% of our furniture never seeing a landfill.

We feel it is our personal responsibility to give back to our community. Why? Because our story is personal. Becca’s Home was started by a group of technology enthusiasts living in New York City. Things around here move quickly, and so did we. While frequently changing apartments, we found ourselves wishing for a service that made re-decorating simple, fast and fun.

Before Becca’s Home existed, we relied on those around us. We relied on friends to tell us that the floral print couch we’re considering could be in style if we had a time machine dialed up to 1973.

We relied on family to help us pack up, move and assemble what always turned out to be just a little* more stuff than we originally told them when they agreed to help. Pizza was on us. We relied on neighbors too. After all, who else has your back when you lock yourself out twice on the first day in your new home?

We would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for the help given to us. That’s why we’re creating a furniture experience that gives back to you, and your community. And not just the local community. This is even bigger than that. Overstuffed landfills release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, creating global warming, and also polluting the water, soil and everything grown within it. When you use Becca’s home, you’re not just helping fix a backyard problem. You’re helping fix a planet problem.

At Becca’s Home, your furniture will make an impact that lasts forever.
